But I misheard them as:
Hit me with your pet shark

The embarrassing moment of revelation:
Actually, my mother is the one who misheard it. My sister, her and I were driving home one day when the song came on and Mom asked us: Just what is she saying? We, of course, responded: What do you think she's saying? After her response we (my sister and I) could not stop laughing. This happened well over 10 years ago, and to this day we still give Mom a hard time about the whole thing....and always ask what she thinks the lyrics are whenever she looks perplexed!
